IT’S OFFICIAL! The DARK CITY episode is here! On this episode of the show we’ll be talking about Alex Proyas visionary opus DARK CITY. John Murdoch wakes up in a bathtub and is unsure how he got there. His memories are gone he finds out that he’s wanted for a series of murders. Unsure who he is, where he’s at or if he even committed these murders, Murdoch goes on the hunt to find the truth all the while being pursued by the Police and his wife. While he tries to uncover the truth, Murdoch finds out things aren’t quite as they seem when he finds out that he’s just the pawn in an evil scheme put forth by a group of intelligent beings that live underneath the city. Released in 1998 by New Line Cinema, DARK CITY was a box office failure but garnered a strong cult following on home video for its striking visuals, philosophical context and great direction. DARK CITY was written by Alex Proyas, Lem Dobbs and David S. Goyer, was beautifully shot by Dariusz Wolski, DARK CITY is a beautiful mesh of hard boiled noir, science fiction and expressionist fantasy. The film stars Rufus Sewell, Jennifer Connelly, Kiefer Sutherland, Richard O’Brien and William Hurt.
