The Evil Eye podcast returns with a new special music episode focused on one of our favorite bands: British experimental, post-industrial masters Coil. Rob and Samm discuss the band’s history and its origins in Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, our favorite Coil albums, and their changing sound over the years and their influence on goth, neofolk, and ambient music. The episode also explores the importance of the occult to their music, the influence of cinema on their work and specifically their relationship with Clive Barker and their unused score for Hellraiser (1987).

The Evil Eye is a podcast about goth movies. What exactly is a goth movie? Writers Samm Deighan and Robert Skvarla are two old goths determined to answer that age-old question by exploring various genres including horror, melodrama, and film noir. Each episode will dissect a film that fits the goth aesthetic and explore the music and culture in the year that film was released.
