Written and directed by Christian Carion, JOYEUX NOËL (aka MERRY CHRISTMAS) tells the story of the historic 1914 Christmas truce that occurred between the French, German and Scottish soldiers during World War I. It’s a touching film about the triumph of man and finding out that the man you once thought of as your enemy might have more in common with you than originally anticipated. The film stars Benno Fürmann, Guillaume Canet, Diane Kruger, Daniel Brühl, and Gary Lewis. The film was Official Selection at the Festival de Cannes and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards as well as being nominated for Best Foreign Feature at the BAFTA awards.
