On today’s episode of the Shame List Picture Show, Michael is joined by Niko Aldrich. Niko Aldrich is not only a friend of Michael’s but a former guest, and also a skilled editor and filmmaker. Niko joins Michael to discuss William Friedkin’s controversial yet transgressive film CRUISING. A film that was wildly misunderstood back in 1980, CRUISING is being re-evaluated in the last couple of years as one of Friedkin’s most interesting pieces of filmmaking. In this episode, we discuss the opinion of CRUISING from the LGBTQIA community; was Al Pacino miscast; the influence of CRUISING on today’s film landscape; could a CRUISING remake work?
