The Evil Eye is a podcast about goth movies. What exactly is a goth movie? Film writers Samm Deighan and Robert Skvarla are two old goths determined to answer that age old question by exploring various genres including horror, melodrama, and film noir. Each episode will dissect a film that fits the goth aesthetic and explore the music and culture in the year that film was released.
It’s the greatest time of the year, it’s October! You know what that means, right? Ghosts and ghouls and… Vincent Price? Yes! The Evil Eye is celebrating the month of October with a full month of episodes highlighting the King of the Grand Guignol himself. We’re kicking things off with House of Usher, a 1960 Roger Corman adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s famous short story. The film launched a series of Corman-Price Poe adaptations, and is one of the seminal horror films of 1960s.
