It’s the long awaited return of JodoWOWsky and on this episode we’re headed back to the comic book Jodoverse with the eight-volume Incal spin-off THE TECHNOPRIESTS, originally published from 1998 until 2006. Written by Jodorowsky with art from the immortal Zoran Janjetov, with color from Fred Beltran it follows the journey of Albino, the Supreme Technopriest, and his journey through the Technopriest hierarchy which – surprise – becomes a galaxy-spanning epic of mind-melting proportions. JodoWOWsky returns with a trifecta of Alejandro Jodorowsky-penned comic work from the 1990s, starting with the fantastical (and very odd) MOON FACE from 1992 (illustrated by François Boucq), then moving into the playfully erotic Angel Claws from 1994 (with explicit illustrations by Jean “Moebius” Giraud), and finishing with the western-tinged action-filled redemption tale Son of the Gun from 1995 (illustrated by Georges Bess). We also check out all the latest Alejandro Jodorowsky news, as well as the recent music video by Adanowsky (with Beck) for the song “Chain Reactionary”, directed by Michel Gondry. Check it out!

Despite his increasing success with comics, Jodorowsky was still reeling from the failure of his Dune project when he decided to adapt Reginald Campbell’s “Poo Lorn of the Elephants” into the disastrous 1980 film TUSK. Disowned by the director (“Don’t see Tusk. I bury the film.”) and nearly impossible to track down in a watchable form, the movie remains an enigma in Alejandro Jodorowsky’s career. On this episode of JodoWOWsky, we look at how TUSK came about, whether it’s the disaster so often reported, whether a better film might be hiding inside the original elements, and how the heck the whole thing fell apart.
