On this episode of the podcast, Julie and Nick take a look back at the recent Panic Fest in Kansas City. In addition to talking Buffet Infinity, Obsession, The Barn Part III, We Put the World to Sleep, Demonitize, and Flytrapper, they cover a slew of short films. Plus, the pair discuss trailers galore for Clayface, Evil Dead Burn, Salt Along the Tongue, and more (all of which you can check out in the show notes). All this and Julie and Nick muse on which movies they’d love to see again for the first time.
On this bonus episode of the Carnage Report, we did a bunch of interviews with filmmakers as part of our Panic Fest Coverage and it ended up being so big, we decided to release it as a solo episode.
We spoke with Janine Hogan, co-writer and one of the stars of the found footage/reality show feature Demonitize, along with writer/director Guillermo de la Rosa of long-form short film Forever, Liam, which won Best of Fest – Long Form Short, as well as Best Actress – Long Form Short for star Paula Marquez. There’s also writer/director Bo Webb of zombie horror comedy short Un-Dead, winner of Best Actor – Short Film for star Brian Huskey and writer/director Sam Rudykoff of the haunted house short Halfway Haunted.
Take a listen and enjoy! We’ll be back next week with our full Panic Fest rundown.
