The Carnage Report Episode 106: Chattanooga Film Fest 2026

On this episode of the podcast, Julie and Nick take a look back at the recently-concluded Chattanooga Film Festival, looking at Big City Pizza, Jump Scare, Blood & Guts, The King of Black Goo, Dead Media, and Frankie, Maniac Woman, among many others, while exhorting you to join CFF’s Patreon, The Double Secret Cinema Society, to keep the fun going all year round. Plus, the pair discuss trailers galore for The Last House, Slashercise, Big Baby, and more (all of which you can check out in the show notes). All this and Julie and Nick share their favorite things to blow up on the Fourth of July.

The Carnage Report Bonus Episode: Chattanooga Film Fest interviews

On this bonus episode of the Carnage Report, with Chattanooga Film Fest taking place in-person June 18-21 and online June 19-27, we’ve pushed back our next episode on the fest until after it’s done to make sure we see as many things as we possibly can. However, in the interim, we wanted to share a couple of interviews with folks behind films playing as part of the festival.

First up is an interview with director Harry Sherriff and co-writer Laurence Tratalos about their feature, Misper, wherein the employees of a dying seaside hotel have their lives upended when their colleague vanishes.

Following that, we spoke with director Curtis Matzke ahead of the world premiere of his documentary, First Feature, which tells the story of intrepid student filmmaker Thomas Reilly-King (affectionately known as TRK), who will do anything to complete his first feature film, aptly titled Enduring Destiny.

Take a listen and enjoy! We’ll be back in a couple of weeks with our full Chattanooga Film Fest rundown.
